Screen Well is committed to supporting businesses to create safer and more supportive workplaces to help them achieve not only better mental health and wellbeing outcomes, but improved business outcomes.

We support screen businesses and organisations to improve their wellbeing outcomes, which can also improve business outcomes.

If you work in a screen business or organisation and would like to discuss how we can support your workplace, we’d love to hear from you.

Mental Health Essentials

Mental Health Essentials is a one or two-hour screen industry specific presentation and workshop designed to provide essential workplace wellbeing information; introduce basic interventions that help reduce wellbeing risks in screen workplaces; and help increase peer to peer support.

Mental Health Essentials can be presented by any of our team and features a selection of relevant screen-based research, short clips, scenarios and interactive elements designed to engage teams.

We have a standard one hour version, as well as numerous customisation options to ensure this is workshop is relevant to your workplace and has an immediate impact.

Mental Health First Aid

We deliver Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training directly to screen businesses and organisations, either online or face-to-face over 12-hours. MHFA is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem; is experiencing the worsening of a mental health problem; and/or is in a mental health crisis.

These are essentials skills to have embedded in your teams to create safer and more inclusive workplaces for all.

Safeguarding productions

We can help safeguard screen productions by reviewing shooting scripts and assessing all potential wellbeing risks. We do this from the perspective of the content, as well as the production, such as assessing shooting schedules, production environments, as well as the exisiting resources and processes in place. The result of our risk assessments are recommendations to mitigate the risks identified and we can also support productions to make our recommendations happen.

We are fully aware of budget-related constraints and pressures. For us, this is not about adding to those pressures, it’s about helping productions to improve to their wellbeing outcomes in a realistic and practical way, which we know can also improve the creative and commercial outcomes of productions.

Leadership Matters Workshops

We run workshops for leaders and creative teams based on the Leadership Matters report, designed to bring to life how leaders can improve the creative and wellbeing outcomes of their screen projects.

We offer a one-hour presentation, with interactive elements, followed by a Q&A designed to unpack the culture of the screen industry and how leaders can increase their impact.

We also offer a two hour learning experience. The additional time allows for more interactivity, discussion and opportunities for participants to reflect on their own leadership style and practices.

Resources for Businesses

What other businesses have said

  • "Fremantle Media engaged Screen Well to deliver two Mental Health First Aid workshops in 2023, the workshops were a huge success, and the facilitator Ben was incredible using his deep industry experience to bring relevance to the information - his energy kept participants highly engaged and really brought the workshop to life. By the end of the sessions, our attendees reported that they are much more able to better manage their own mental health as well as having the tools to support anyone struggling at work or in their personal lives. The workshops were so highly regarded, Fremantle are rolling these workshops out again in 2024. Having Mental Health First Aiders on all our Productions are now intrinsic to the way we operate.”
