Screen Well was founded in 2022 to improve the mental health and wellbeing outcomes of the Australian screen industry and have since become a leading training organisation in Australia with a focus on mental health, safety and industry culture.

We can help off-shore productions meet their minimum training expenditure requirements:

  • We can consult and manage training programs in collaboration with our key partners.

  • We can deliver a one off training program for a single production, or a long term training program across a slate of productions (minimum of two).

  • Be engaged as part of a wider training program to deliver mental health, safety and culture training from our growing suite of in-person and online workshops.

We work closely with other training organisations:

  • We welcome collaboration with other training providers and our growing suite of in-person and online workshops can be incorporated into most training programs, which include:

    • Leadership Essentials

    • Mental Health Essentials

    • Mental Health First Aid

    • Managing Psychosocial Hazards in the Screen Industry

    • Job Sharing 101

    • Toolbox Talks

What others have said about our training programs

  • "Fremantle Media engaged Screen Well to deliver two Mental Health First Aid workshops in 2023, the workshops were a huge success, and the facilitator Ben was incredible using his deep industry experience to bring relevance to the information - his energy kept participants highly engaged and really brought the workshop to life. By the end of the sessions, our attendees reported that they are much more able to better manage their own mental health as well as having the tools to support anyone struggling at work or in their personal lives. The workshops were so highly regarded, Fremantle are rolling these workshops out again in 2024. Having Mental Health First Aiders on all our Productions are now intrinsic to the way we operate.”

    - Lynette Jones, Director of HR, Fremantle Australia

  • "Bus Stop Films reached out to ScreenWell to help our growing national staff build their skills and understanding of mental health. We wanted to ensure that our staff had the tools and resources to be confident in supporting their own mental health and taking daily steps towards this. Ben was an incredible teacher and really helped foster a safe and inclusive space for our staff."

    - Tracey Corbin-Matchett, Bus Stop Films.

  • "Screen Well's Mental Health First Aid training was relevant, practical and directly applicable to the screen industry. The opportunity to explore mental health scenarios that might arise during a production was invaluable, and Ben delivered the live component in an engaging, calm and inclusive way. I also loved the practical application of each module to the film industry, and took away a list of ideas that I'll definitely be using on my future projects".
